Rumor: BioWare Montreal Working on "Military-Genre" FPS
Could the famous RPG studio represent going the way of Call of Duty?
BioWare makes RPGs. We all know that. It's the developer's specialty, much alike how Valve makes FPS games, Blizzard makes RTSes (and MMOs), Square-Enix makes games or so teenagers with immense hair and shiny swords, and Keita Takahashi makes games that make you feel same you've just dropped a social disease of LSD.
A series of business listings might suggest that the RPG maker's Montreal studio, at to the lowest degree, is starting to branch out ready to make something other than (confessedly awe-inspiring) KotOR clones.
According to the list, quaternity positions are being sought-after to develop games in Montreal. Three of them may well be working on the same courageous: a Conception Artist is needful for a "military-genre franchise," a Specialised Creative person is needed for a "popular FPS," and a Lead Designer is being sought for a "military-genre FPS." The fourth, a Senior Level Designer for a "new Action-Adventure IP," mightiness have nothing to do with the visualize the others are working on at all.
On the former hand, BioWare Montreal mightiness have zipp to do with this. Spell VG247 and G4 some mention that the claim was filed low-level some Ea and BioWare (indicating that the positions were at BioWare Montreal), the site now single lists EA.
Either somebody got some wires decussate somewhere, and these positions are in fact at EA Montreal and not BioWare, operating room this is Ea not willing to show the hand of one of its most precious studios too early. My money is more on the former than the latter, though I could always be wrong.
Ah well, it was an newsworthy thought piece it lasted.
